Queen Padme Amidala looked at the towering skyscrapers of Coruscant while what remained of her royal guard loaded the cruiser. She felt angry at the lack of action by Chancellor Valorum and surprised at how much power the Trade Federation held over the Senate, but this would not deter her. She would retake Naboo from Viceroy Gunray`s grasp and free her people.
"We`re ready to go, your highness," Captain Panaka said to her.
"Do you really think that we can do it, Captain?" Padme asked her security chief.
Panaka smiled reassuringly, "I have no doubt in my mind that we will win."
Padme returned his smile and joined her loyal soldiers as they boarded the royal star cruiser that taken them all so far and through so much. She stopped halfway when she heard someone calling out her name being called out from a distance.
She and Panaka turned to see a speeder pulling up next to the mobile landing platform her ship was docked at, inside was the terran ambassador from the United Earth Government and two UNSC marine guards.
"Ambassador Hakes?" Amidala said out loud.
Hakes leapt out of the speeder and ran to boarding ramp of the queen`s starship.
"Your highness," he said, handing her a terran made datapad, "before you leave, you must read this."
Amidala took the pad and read it over. It was a letter from President Nathan Heralds of the UEG addressed directly to her.
Your royal highness,
It is with great pleasure that today, as of 3:12 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2580, that I inform you that the United Earth Senate has voted unanimously in providing military and medical aid to the sovereign planet of Naboo. Ambassador Hakes will provide his own ship as transport, I must ask for security reasons that you and anyone you deem necessary to take it to the task force being prepared to retake Naboo.
I look forward to meeting you in Theed.
President N. Herald.
Amidala was speechless. She had written off the EUG as a potential ally because, even though the UEG and Naboo were trade partners, it had taken no interest in galactic affairs in the several years since its discovery.
She showed to letter first to Panaka and then Jedi Master Qui-Gon.
"This is unexpected," Qui-Gon stated.

The door was opened for me and I was helped out. It was actually really hard to get in and out of a car with your hands bound behind your back. “Alright, this the place?”
I nodded, glancing around. No sign of them. I knew they would have scampered after I got grabbed – they would be frantic. I'd hoped they would be smart enough to know that I would come here to look for them.
I stepped forward into the alley a bit, before giving off my little keen. I was a little concerned when I waited for a while, not getting a reply. I whistled again, much louder. “And this is?” I heard mu

The Lab
It was dark, but that wasn't unusual. It was dark most of the time. The experiment often wondered why the night lasted so long. Did it last this long everywhere else? Sometimes the experiment wondered if there was an everywhere else. Sometimes he feared the lab was really all there was. He had tried exploring one time, tried to reach out for those threads of reality he could just barely see. Dr. Cobswell had punished him for that. The tests had been especially brutal that week. The experiment decided maybe it was better to sit in the dark and be good.
There was a creaking sound and a snake of light slithered across the floor, bending oddly a

Power Play: Realms in Flux - Chapter Three
A/N: Because it's been years since the last update, you might want to go back and re-read the first two chapters before reading this one. It starts off with an OC that I introduced in chapter two, but not all of the chapter is about her.

“And one day, when He ann
